De kleine Finca had sfeer en had een fijn bed, lekkere handdoeken, een lekker zwembadje en de ligging bij het dorpje Ojèn was lekker dicht bij. Maar… het huisje was niet schoon en in de nacht werd je wakker gehouden door een muis binnen en geblaf van honden buiten. De badkamer en met name de douche was erg basic. Het terras bij het zwembad rommelig. De prijs die wij betaalden vond ik echt te hoog voor wat we kregen. Jammer.

Finca Flores is a great place to have a combined beach/mountain/city vacation. Beautifully situated in the mountains, 5 minutes from the beaches of Marbella and visits to Seville, Cordoba and Malaga can easily be done in 1 or 2 days. Furthermore, Finca Flores is fully equipped to enjoy in between all activities. A roof terrace and small private pool for the sunbathers, a nice shaded patio for when it gets hot and a view that is among the most beautiful in Andalusia! And all this in the village of Ojén, which still breathes the Spanish atmosphere of 50 years ago without cars and crowds, but with friendly people, small terraces, tapas and Spanish wine. In short: a top Finca in a top location.

We stayed at Finca Flores with our small dog (who also gives it 5 stars!) in late July. We left it late to book anything and after much google searching came across this little gem. It is a newly renovated country house and what it lacks in size it makes up for in character and style!
The house is tastefully furnished with quality fittings and a perfect size for 2 people. With doors front and back there is always a lovely view and access to the ample outdoor spaces. The front terrace has the most amazing views down to the sea and we spent many hours sitting there with the fabulous sun shade umbrella on wheels so we could move it around throughout the day to protect us from the fierce July sunshine. The back terrace had the small but sparkling pool which we used several times a day to cool down. Beyond the pool was a large terrace shaded by trees in the afternoon and views to the mountains.
The garden was full of fruit trees and if you were there at the right time of year you could enjoy figs, avocados, oranges and lemons.
The owner was extremely helpful and answered any messages promptly - he was also very discreet when coming to clean the pool and arrived at a pre-arranged time to suit us. (usually when we went out for lunch).
Ojen is a lovely little village with some great restaurants and shops. We loved the food at Vikingo in the square and ate there 3 times - amazing sardines cooked on their charcoal grill were sublime. There is a fantastic baker (details in the 'guide' left in the cottage) who had such an array of bread we didn't know what to do and an organic fruit and veg shop. Additionally a couple of supermarkets.
We didn't explore far when we were there as we went to relax but we did take a couple of trips to the Castillo de Monda hotel & restaurant. Restaurant is highly recommended and I had the most amazing Prawn Dim Sum I've ever had!
All in all I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Finca Flores to anybody if you want a peaceful week surrounded by nature but all the amenities within a few minutes walk (albeit an uphill walk) in the village. We can't wait to return!

Verblijf van 2-9 september 2023. Mooi basic huisje voor 2 personen op een geweldige locatie in Ojén. Van alle gemakken voorzien. Dorp met restaurants, terrassen en andere voorzieningen op loopafstand. Prettig contact met Ton, die veel info gaf voor leuke activiteiten. We hebben een geweldige week gehad!
